Accounting/Finance - Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager Corporate Accounts & Projects

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Corporate Accounts & Projects Department in SIA Finance Division. You will ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closing and reporting of financial results, that are in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and the Group’s accounting policies. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the closing activities and review monthly management accounts for the Company and the Group prepared in accordance with IFRS and ensuring the accounts are prepared accurately and timely for reporting to the top management and stakeholders. Prepare and review interim and year-end financial statements in accordance with IFRS and SGX Listing requirements, and responsible for the publication of the SIA Annual Report. Review management reports of subsidiaries and associates, manage monthly variance analysis and providing commentary on the financial performance.
  • Conduct impairment review analyses for investments and cash-generating-units using the discounted cash flow approach. Review and ensure that accounting policies are applied consistently across the Group.
  • Coordinate & prepare annual budgets and long-term forecasts of consolidated financial results for the business, including projections of cash flow requirements and balance sheet ratios.
  • Liaise with external auditors, handle the year-end statutory audit and accounts filing for overseas branches and XBRL with ACRA.
  • Work on M&A activities, provide support on financial analysis and due diligence.
  • Provide accounting advice and guidance for new transactions including accounting for leases, sale-and-leaseback accounting etc. Review proposed commercial transactions to identify and present the accounting impact. Research, prepare and review documentation to support accounting positions adopted by the Company.
  • Lead or support cross-disciplinary teams in designing and implementing technical accounting projects, including changes to accounting standards and accounting policies.
  • Stays up to date with accounting developments and proactively manages the impact of such developments on the business. Update, enhance or implement financial policies to strengthen internal controls to improve the overall finance operations and effectiveness of the Group

 

Requirements

  • University Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy with about 5 to 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Must have experience with consolidation and familiar with SGX reporting requirements and possesses strong knowledge and understanding of IFRS
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Analytical and project management skills
  • Strong team player with good influencing and networking skills
  • Meticulous and able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge in MS Excel is essential and SAP FICO and SEM-BCS preferred.
  • Experience in hedge accounting and implementation of ERP systems is an added advantage
