Cargo - Cargo Coodinator

Job Description

The successful candidate will join Cargo Division, Cargo Hubs Operations & Unit Load Device (ULD) Management.  
 

Key Responsibilities

(1) Provide 24hrs point of contact to overseas station and GHA for all operational requests.

(2) Monitor all offloading at SIN hub and ensure that they are promptly re-book onto the next available flight.

(3) Review Loading Instructions / Load Plan generated by GHA, especially on high demand flights, double sector flights and “trim sensitive” flights.

(4) Conduct warehouse checks to ensure:

  • Loading is done as per Loading Instruction
  • Utilization of Unit Load Device (ULD) space is compact and maximized.
  • Special commodities (eg. XPS, Perishables (PER), heavy odd sized cargo, temperature/ shock sensitive cargo etc.) are handled and loaded correctly into ULDs.
  • ULDs are handled as per SIA’s cargo procedures.
  • All staff comply with all operating procedures, safety rules and regulations.

(5) Conduct frequent random checks at aircraft parking bays to ensure:

  • Bulk hold loadings on wide body aircrafts are maximized.
  • Loose loadings on narrow body aircrafts are maximized.
  • Handling of ULDs and loose cargo are in accordance to SIA’s cargo procedures.
  • All staffs are in compliance with operating procedures and safety rules & regulations.

(6) Conduct safety and regulatory compliance checks on critical flights including those with frequent payload issues, trim issues and high yield flights during the shift and ensure GHA staff comply with SIA Cargo’s operating procedures, safety rules and regulations.

(7) Liaise with SATS Load Control on critical flights with trim issues. Ensure cargo on these flights is built in the AULDs to achieve an optimal trim to maximize the loads uplift on these flights.

(8) Brief SATS Cargo on the uplift priority for cargo on critical flights including those with frequent payload issues, trim issues and high yield flights.

(9) Follow up with the SATS Cargo staff and ensure all special cargoes (XPS, PER, VUL, DIP & others) are uplifted as booked on the flights.

(10) Assist Duty Controller to investigate on cargo mishandling;

(11) Perform loadsheet/loadmaster duties at overseas stations when required.


Requirements

  • Diploma Holder or equivalent
  • Preferably with driver’s license.
  • Possess system knowledge and IT skills (eg: MS words, excel, etc)
  • Experience in cargo operations or weight & balance experience or customer handling experience preferred
  • Safety and operations-focused and service-oriented
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and relate with people of diverse background and with very senior level executives (both in ranks and age)
  • Dedicated, committed and hardworking
  • Must be able to work shifts
