Cargo - Cargo Sales Manager
Job Description
The successful candidate will join the Cargo Division, Singapore Sales (Cargo) Department. He/She will be responsible for formulating marketing plans and setting strategies to achieve the department’s operational KPIs, with the aim of increasing loads, revenue, and overall profitability. He/She will also be expected to actively identify new business prospects and develop potential market opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Identify sales leads and build direct relationship with shipper accounts to increase their support and spend with SIA Cargo
- Nurture existing direct and indirect vertical accounts (aerospace, pharmaceutical, electronic) and position SIA Cargo as the preferred air cargo partner in specialized segments
- Understand operational capabilities of shipper accounts and engage relevant departments (Cargo Space Management, Commercial Planning, Hub Ops) to enhance overall business competency
- Serve as the main point of contact for agents/shippers, addressing their sales and operational requirements to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Develop marketing strategies and materials, including gathering of industry intelligence and conducting data analysis to drive company revenue growth across all verticals
- Formulate sales and pricing strategies, in-depth review and set direction for the sales team to improve SIN Sales’ overall revenue and tonnage growth
- Conduct market research and provide sales team with relevant data and insights to support their sales efforts.
- Coordinate SIN Sales’ response to Requests for Quotations(RFQs) from various agents, and Head Quarters Global team
- Oversees the Accounts unit to investigate on billing error, agent billing disputes and verification of special Unit Load Device (ULD) leasing.
- Lead and supervise a team of sales associates for all sales-related matters and other administrations duties to support SIN Sales operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Solid marketing background and in depth understanding of the local cargo, supply chain management and logistics sector
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Independent and self driven, with strong communication and interpersonal skills; a collaborative team player who can guide and motivate subordinates
- Confident and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- A valid Class 3 driver’s licence is an added advantage
