Engineering - Material Management Executive

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Material Management Department (MMD) in SIA Engineering Division. You will part of the team that manages engineering materials/spares for our aircrafts.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate forecasted and ad hoc engineering material/spares consumption, demands and trends, to continuously meet demand, and maintain an optimal (lean) spares inventory level
  • Oversee the management of hangar and line maintenance daily shortage sheets by liaising with various end users, sections within the department, other Engineering Departments, to ensure spares availability and optimal utilization of engineering spares in a timely manner
  • Review and analyse post check spare consumption and shortfall data to better and improve future scheduled checks
  • Identify critical spares that will result in work stoppage and/Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and to work with relevant sections in MMD to support the spare requirement from Line maintenance and Base maintenance
  • Support Daily Line Maintenance Production Input Meeting and Hangar Check Input Meetings
  • Track and review all spares requirements from all sources (eg: Modification Action Form (MAF), Engineering Notes (EN), Airworthiness Directive Special Inspection (ADSI/SI), Carry Forwards (CFWD), Preload Bill of Material (BOMs), Pre-Service Mod (PSM), Hard/Soft-life, etc), reviewing past trends and future demands, to ensure timely availability of spares
  • Inform purchasing team to cancel Purchasing Orders (PO) for requirements that are cancelled
  • Review frequent robbed spares from aircraft in hangars and monitor frequently robbed items
  • Support spare requirements for outhouse aircraft checks by raising Irregularity of Travel Documents (ITD) and account for the material usage
  • Alert purchasing, repair and warranty in case of aircraft or component damage claim with Aircraft Ground Incident Report (AGIR), lost report, etc
  • Support Post Check material consumption and shortage review to plan for future demands and suggest amendments to BOM lists
  • Consolidate and present the analysis of scheduled spare shortfall
  • Consolidate and analyse historical check adhoc and unplanned spare consumption data

 

Requirements

  • Possess a University Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Must be familiar with SAP e.g. able to use SQ01, MB51, MMBE
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of products, especially Excel and PowerPoint e.g. able to use pivot table to perform trending and analysis and to prepare power point material
  • Support in commercial negotiation for fixed price
  • Those with knowledge and relevant experience of Material Management’s operations, administration and procedures would be preferred
  • Be able to engage with vendors and line engineers on the shop floor directly
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be motivated, driven and be a team player and also be able to work independently
  • Must be able to work under pressure
