Executive Cargo Safety and Compliance
Job Description
The successful candidate will support key functions related to Cargo Safety, Security, Quality and Compliance of Cargo operations in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Investigation and Hazards reporting
- Determine root causes of incidents and hazards, with corrective actions implemented by relevant parties.
Implementation of Safety Management System (SMS) elements
- Updating relevant cargo manuals both internal and for approval by regulator.
- Support coordination with regulator authorities (including CAAS) to ensure compliance, including providing requested information and reports.
Cargo Quality Assurance System (Safety) - Line station audits
- Conduct station audits and support activities to track corrective actions taken.
Occupational Safety and Health
- Investigate incidents/accidents are investigated, and recommendations are made to prevent recurrence.
- Link with SSQ for OSH matters
Sanctions Monitoring
- Maintain and monitor compliance related matters including within cargo division and for sanctions related screening
- Improving cargo compliance monitoring programme.
Portable Electric Devices (PED) Datalogger process handling
- Manage approval process for PEDs such as data loggers for use on board SQ aircraft.
- Work with stakeholders to improve the efficiency of the PED approval process
Other cargo related compliance activities
- Monitor and follow up for completion of Cargo division mandatory training programs
- Interested Party Transactions Coordinator
- CGO Risk Management Coordinator
Crisis Management
- Assist in the development and coordination of the division crisis management plan
- Provide support in crisis response including crisis exercises
Handling of department administrative functions
- Invoice verification and preparation for approval and payment
- Departmental budget planning/tracking
- Manage contract requirements and issues relating to safety, and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Qualification in a safety field would be preferred
- Experience in safety and quality related fields
- Experience in air cargo industry coming from either airline, handling agent or cargo agent
- Familiarity with the administration of a Safety & Quality System to monitor compliance with, and adequacy of, procedures required to ensure safe operational practices.
- Technical and working knowledge of cargo operational areas and their interdependence.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the Air Navigation Regulations, the Air Operator Certificate Requirements and the relevant ICAO Annexes.
