Network Planning Analyst
Job Description
The successful candidate will be part of the SIA's Network Planning department and will play a critical role in the various stages along the network planning process – from longer-term planning to eventual execution – to help the airline improve its network profitability and connectivity. His/her analysis and strategic inputs will result in network decisions that will then trigger the company’s sales, operations, and financial planning. This role will hone the candidate’s ability to synthesise and problem-solve, and offer the opportunity to make highly impactful recommendations for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and review opportunities and perform economic projections for network expansion in existing or new markets, in the longer/medium-term
- Monitor operating/financial performance of SIA’s route network
- Review and improve poorer performing routes through schedules and structural adjustments
- Monitor competitors' capacity deployments
- Plan and review supplementary flights/upgauges to optimise aircraft resource and tap peak demand
- Work with Partnerships Department and our Joint Venture partners to expand network reach and maximise partners’ sales contribution on our network
- Work with various stakeholders, both in Head Office and in Stations, to operationalise network decisions and problem-solve where necessary
Requirements
- Degree preferably in disciplines related to Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Finance
- Adept with Excel, statistics or numerical visualisation tools, mathematical programming (e.g. macro programming for Excel) will be a bonus
- Excellent communication skills (written and presentation)
- Possess an analytical mind, with keen interest in numerical analysis (market data
- Able to multi-task, work under pressure, and highly motivated to achieve optimum results
- Good planning and organisation skills
