Technical Services Engineer (Data Analytics & Digitalization)
Job Description
The candidate will be part of the SIA Engineering Division Transformation, Innovation and Digitalisation Department responsible to drive the use of data and analytics to transform the way Engineering Division work, improve efficiency, effectiveness, and aircraft reliability for the Engineering Division.
Key Responsibilities
- To work and coordinate with IT Division on the planning and execution of data analytics projects, including data extraction, data pipeline creation and data validation
- To work with internal departments within Engineering and external parties e.g. vendors, research institutes, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), etc. on development of digital projects and operationalising them
- To function as Project Management Office, to facilitate Engineering Division on the digitalisation and automation efforts, as well as coordinate relevant training
- To setup up divisional and departmental dashboards, alerts and reports and work on data extraction, report/dashboard generation, analytics validation and operationalisation
- To identify opportunities and determine value of projects where data analytics can be used to provide insights and help in decision-making, e.g. inventory forecasting, aircraft spares prediction
- To offer guidance and support to the business units within the Engineering Division in the areas of digitalisation and data analytics and develop strong relationships.
- To assist Data Governance Office on Data Governance (DG) issues, including formulating and updating of Master Data List, administering DG policies etc.
- To manage and coordinate administrative matters to organize management meetings, manage IT budget requirements and prepare presentation decks to senior management and stakeholders
- To design prototypes and solutions for validation with the business units.
Requirements
- Possess at least a Degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- Be able to work proficiently and independently. As the job requires close interactions with various user groups and departments, good interpersonal skills will be necessary.
- Be able to analyse, identify, diagnose problems and provide effective solutions
- Meticulous, objective and resourceful
- Effective communications and writing skills
- Conversant with standard IT applications such as Microsoft Office
- Experience and conversant in IT applications such as and not limited to: RPA, Python, Tableau, Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate, is preferred
- Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, Dashboarding, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques is valued
